To Get What You Want, You Have to Aim for It

— Kim Fulcher —

You cannot hit a target you have not defined. And most women are moving fast in multiple directions without being clear on which direction is actually theirs.

The women who get what they want are not luckier than other women. They are clearer. They have defined what they are going for, aligned their behavior with it, and built the focus to stay on course.

Here is the same framework.

1. Develop a Clear Vision

Ask five questions. What do you want for your relationships? For your finances? For your work? For your lifestyle? For your spiritual life? Answer each one without editing for practicality. Just answer.

This is your target. And your brain, once it knows the target, will begin noticing opportunities, connections, and resources that were always there but were invisible before you defined what you were looking for.

Your current reality is a reflection of your previous actions.

2. Align Your Actions

Your current reality is a direct result of your previous behavior. If you want a different reality, you need to change your behavior.

For each area of your vision, identify one thing to start doing and one thing to stop doing. Just those two. Start them this week.

You cannot behave against what you want and expect to achieve it. Every action either moves you toward the vision or away from it.

3. Build Your Focus

Your attention is a finite resource. Every time you give it to something that does not serve your vision, you are taking it from something that does.

There will be dozens of daily distractions competing for your attention. Every time you catch yourself being hooked by something that does not serve your vision, redirect.

This is a muscle. It gets stronger with use. And the women who build it find that over time, their lives start to look remarkably like the vision they defined.

You can know a thing without doing anything about it.
