Identity and Next ChapterThe Passion Triad: Integrate Your Values
— Kim Fulcher —

If someone asked you right now to list your top five values, would you write down what actually excites you or what you think you should care about? Most women write down the should list. That is not your values. That is your conditioning.
In the coaching world, a value is not a moral rule or an obligation. It is something that excites you, animates you, and naturally pulls your attention. It is what lights you up when you encounter it.
Most women have never looked at their values through this lens. And it changes everything.
1. Find Your Values in What Pulls Your Attention
Your real values are already showing up in your life every day. You just have not been paying attention to them as information.
What section of a bookstore do you always go to? What do you read about when no one is asking you to? What would you do with a completely free day? What topics make you lose track of time?
Those are clues. Your values live in the things you are naturally drawn to, not the things you feel obligated to care about. Pay attention to the difference.
Values put the color back into your world.
2. Separate Your Values from Your Obligations
One of the most clarifying exercises you can do is write two lists. The first is everything you think you should care about. The second is everything you actually find yourself drawn to.
Look at both lists. How different are they? The gap between those two lists is where a lot of the emptiness comes from. You have been living primarily in the first list and wondering why life feels flat.
Your real values belong on the second list.
3. Build Your Values Into How You Live
Once you know what genuinely lights you up, your job is to find ways to bring more of it into your daily life. Not in one dramatic overhaul. In small, deliberate ways.
If you value creativity, where can you create? If you value connection, where can you go deeper with the people in your life? If you value learning, what are you reading, listening to, or exploring?
Values integrated into daily life are what make ordinary days feel meaningful. They are the color that makes everything else visible.
When we string these three gems together, we get a passionate, beautiful existence.
