Yes You DO Know. How to Listen to Yourself.

— Kim Fulcher —

You already know the answer to the question you keep asking everyone else. You have known for a while. The problem is not information. The problem is trust.

There is a particular exhaustion that comes from not listening to yourself. From knowing something and overriding it. From asking everyone else what to do and then feeling more confused, not less.

The intelligence you are looking for is already inside you.

1. Learn Your Body’s Signal System

Your body has a signal system for yes and no. Most women have learned to ignore it.

Start paying attention to what your body does when you encounter something that is genuinely right for you. And what it does when something is not. The signals are probably already there. You just have not been treating them as information.

For one week, before you make any decision, pause and check in with your body first. Then notice whether that signal was accurate.

I want you to know, like, and trust yourself.

2. Stop Outsourcing Your Decisions

There is a habit many women have of asking everyone they know what to do before they ask themselves. The result is a collection of other people’s opinions that makes the decision harder, not easier.

You know things about your life, your situation, your values, and your capacity that no one else can access.

Practice asking yourself first. What do I actually think? What does my gut say? What would I choose if I were not worrying about what everyone else would think?

3. Build Trust Through Follow-Through

Trust in your own knowing builds when you follow it and see that it was right. And it builds when you ignore it, see that it was right, and decide to listen next time.

The times you knew something and talked yourself out of it — those are not failures. They are data. They are building a case for the intelligence that already lives inside you.

Start following the knowing. Even in small things. The more you act on it and see that it serves you, the louder it gets and the easier it becomes to hear.

I want you to know, like, and trust yourself. That is what every single thing I do is built on.
