Reclaim Your PowerPower Isn’t Something You Have. It’s Something You Do.
— Kim Fulcher —

Power isn’t something you HAVE. It’s something you DO.
Please allow me to correct a belief that’s quietly derailing a lot of women’s lives. Do you think power is something you simply have or don’t? Do you think that confident women were handed power while you somehow missed your share? Do you wait to feel ready, sure of yourself, or powerful before you do a hard thing? Here’s the truth. After twenty-five years and twelve thousand hours teaching women, what I know for sure is that power isn’t something you have. It’s something you do. And every time you do it, even in the smallest moments, you build the very thing you’re waiting to feel.
You’ve been waiting for the feeling to come first
Watch how the waiting works. You want to have the hard conversation, but you’re waiting until you feel brave enough. You want to set the boundary, but you’re waiting until you feel sure it won’t cost you. You want to make the change, but you’re waiting until you feel ready. And the wait never ends, because that feeling you’re waiting for is produced by the very action you’re postponing. Brave isn’t the mood you get before you act. It’s the residue of having acted. You’ve been standing at the door waiting for a key that only exists on the other side of the very door that needs you to step over its threshold.
You don’t think your way into feeling powerful. You act your way there. One hard thing at a time. The feeling catches up.
Power is built in the small, unglamorous moments
When I say power is something you do, I don’t mean grand gestures. I mean the quiet actions nobody claps for. Telling the truth when it’s easier to smooth things over. Saying no when yes would keep the peace. Making the hard choice instead of the easy one. Each individual decision is small. Each one feels like almost nothing. Yet each is a deposit. Power isn’t a lightning strike. It’s the compound interest of a thousand small moments where you choose yourself. That’s why it can’t be given to you. It has to be practiced into existence. That means it’s available to you at every moment, starting right now, in your next small choice.
Start where you are, with what’s in front of you
You don’t need a bigger life to start doing this. You need the thing that’s already in front of you today. The conversation you’ve been avoiding, the boundary you’re afraid to set, the small “no” you keep swallowing. That’s your power gym. Do the one hard thing available to you right now, and don’t wait to feel like it first. Then do the next one. This is how women who feel powerless become women who feel powerful. Not in a lightning bolt of transformation, but in the accumulation of chosen moments. You are far more powerful than you feel. You just haven’t been counting the reps. Start counting. You’ve got this.
You were never powerless. You were just waiting to feel something you were only ever going to build.
