Reclaim Your Power

How to Feel More Confident

— Kim Fulcher —

You are not going to feel confident and then start. You are going to start and then find the confidence. The order matters, and most people have it backwards.

Confidence is a skill. Not a personality trait. Not something you have or you do not. A skill that develops through specific behaviors, practiced consistently over time.

1. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

Comparison is confidence’s greatest enemy. You are comparing your full reality to other people’s highlight reel. You will lose this comparison every single time.

The only comparison that builds confidence is this one: am I better today than I was yesterday? That is the only scorecard that matters.

Your worth is not diminished when another person succeeds. There is enough. What they have does not take from what you can have.

You trust yourself by behaving in a trustworthy manner.

2. Handle Your Business

Self-trust is built one promise at a time. Every commitment you make to yourself and keep is a deposit. Every one you skip is a withdrawal.

Most people do not have a confidence problem. They have a follow-through problem. The erosion is quiet but cumulative.

Pick one area where you have been avoiding or procrastinating. Handle it this week. Not everything. One thing. Then notice how you feel about yourself afterward.

3. Get Informed

Confidence grows when competence grows. The more you know about what you are doing, the braver you feel doing it.

Before you go into a new situation, do your homework. Learn what you can. Understand the context.

Then go. Because information without action stays theory. Confidence is only built through the actual doing.

You do confidence. You do not feel your way into it. You behave your way into it.
